Localizing your software on your own might seem like an overwhelming task when you have no professional foreign language experience. Hawaii’s large Asian population, particularly Chinese, Japanese and Korean deserve to understand your product and service descriptors. In this final article on internationalizing and/or localizing your software for Hawaii‘s tourism market, we’ll discuss some of the peculiarities of each language plus other Pacific region languages and how you can display content that will dazzle your site or app’s visitors.//chinese
Knowing your target audience's nationality is important because of the simplified and traditional Chinese writing systems. When searching for a font, it is important to know these subtle differences. Using simplified character fonts for a site or app that is intended to target a Taiwanese market might not be the best solution for your business. We use multiple tools that you can browse below.
If you are a native English speaker who has or wants to target the Japanese tourist market in Hawaii, you may or may not have heard of a WordPress hack that may convolute your marketing scheme. With a simple Bootstrap site we can create fluent keywords and phrases that will put your site or app at the top of the listings.
With our state of the art translation methods and proofreading methods such as Lang-8's native check system, you can be assured that your descriptors will wow your site or app's userbase.

Determining whether or not your translated content is web-worthy may not be as difficult as you once thought. If you consider yourself a fluent writer in your native language, you should try following the same logic and structure as writing a blog article or school essay and translate your content with the following free online tools. At Programming in Paradise, we consider and reconsider every step in developing your website or app.//google translate
Google Translate has received a lot of criticism from netizens from all over the world. However, we believe that using Google Translate is practically essential for translators who are not native writers. But do not be deceived. Using Google Translate alone is not enough.//japanese: jisho.org
After hand-translating and proofreading your translation with Google Translate, you will probably run into just a few words or phrases that will be impossible for you to translate at your level. At Programming in Paradise, we focus on East Asian marketing, particulary Japanese, Korean and Chinese. When Google Translate's answer's validity is unclear, the following web dictionaries for the CJK language group will be a great addition to your translation arsenal.
The last step is the most fun part of translating in my opinion. Check out Lang-8 for finalizing your proofreading work. Lang-8 is a website and app created for language exchange by writing in your target language and receiving grammar and spelling checks by native writers. Your post at Lang-8 will be seen by more viewers if you participate in their community by proofreading other users' work in your native language. I do not recommend pasting Google Translate's results directly on Lang-8 because many times, your work may not be considered proofreadable.
Staying vigilant when translating content for your website or app is the most important step in the process. You may feel your work will be considered unprofessional so continue to proofread and check your work on Lang-8 even after you've made your app or website dev-readhy.

For the majority of Asian’s population, mainland China, using the world’s leading search engine platform is illegal. If you are attempting to digitally market to China, you will need to index your site or app on a site such as Baidu or 163. Google‘s indexing is still a powerful tool for overseas Chinese, Taiwanese, Koreans, Japanese etc. In this article, we’ll go into details for indexing in Japanese, Chinese and Korean.//utf-8
Because of Japan’s close relations with the U.S. most Japanese internet users stick with Google for their search engine and online research needs. 10 years ago, Yahoo JP used to be the most popular search engine, however in recent years Google has taken strides ahead of Yahoo. Once you put your Japanese descriptors in your site, it should be easy for your target audience to find you after Google’s robots scan your site for a few days. Just remember to set your HTML CHARSET META tag to ’UTF-8’ so your site will be displayed correctly.//jap google
For Korean and Chinese audiences, Google will not be enough to target your market appropriately. Korean web giant Naver has a tutorial for indexing your site through hosting authentication similar to Google’s Search Console. If you don’t speak Korean, check out this Quora article for more details.//baidu indexing
Chinese web users perform more than 1 million English searches per day. Baidu is the search engine that 75% of the Chinese online market uses. The Chinese government is extremely strict with foreigners registering their sites, so a mainland Chinese phone number is required to make an account. We at Programming in Paradise can perform the plethora of tasks that is required to index your site with Baidu.//naver indexing
If you will be happy with just Google’s powerful search engine ability then indexing your site on other global search engines is not necessary for you. However, for those that intend to reach the largest possible online audience, remember to index with the major East Asian search engines.
